I see you need stable and enough powerful router. I have some exparence working with routers so I should say if you want some nice one, you should choose Linksys or Buffalo routers, also Edimax or Asus. But I should say that Buffalo and Linksys are leaders. But recently Linksys disappointed me because some routers don't have some functions than some older ones. Exp, Linksys wrtg54g ver.7 is very unfortunate , works very unstable. There are some sure models that I can suggest: Linksys WAP54G, WRT54G(GL)(GS)(GX) (but not WRTG54 ver7.), Buffalo WHR-HP-G54, WGR-125, Asus WL550gE, WL520GC. If you don't need DD-WRT software then Edimax EW-7206APg.
