What is a High Definition (HD) TV standard

Your rating: None

HDTV pricings are falling down, while the screen sizes gets even bigger. It is a trend that isn't going to wait.

The thing about the big screens is that the High Definition content appears better in comparison with the screen. Standard Definition content appears worse the larger the screen. The Compressed web video seems bad if you attempt to expand to fill the PC monitor.

If you do have the new HDTV have a look at those video inputs, or open up its manual. Either of these ways, you'll know that a only way to receive as well as display the HD content in HD for the new HDTV is through the component, HDMI or DVI port. You might have a Composite or S Video there, and they might let you to connect to the PC, satellite or cable but they won't play in HD.

The PC that you have, and that the most Americans have with them can't connect to the new HDTV and play the High Definition content. So every prognosticator who believes that the streaming or the downloaded High Definition content over the internet is right in the corner. Well, only if the corner has not only the upgrades of huge bandwidth, but also the massive replacement of PC's or video cards with the brand new units of spanking. (Of course it is irony in that truth that if your video processor or CPU is enough fast, you could play the HD content out of the VGA port to the PC monitor. But the VGA inputs are going away in the HDTVs and the VGA to the component doesn't work well and the DVI converters are confusing and expensive to the typical consumer).

So how many are going to replace or upgrade their PCs to connect to the new HDTVs ? and How many people are going to put the upgraded or brand new PC they spent close to, shared with the HDTV and the high speed connection for data and give up the Bandwidth and CPU performance rather than simply leasing the box from a satellite , cable or telecom provider ?

So the chance for the Video over the internet to replace the TV, if you believe that such a thing is possible, is gonna be hurt by the fast growing base of the HDTVs. Expansion of the HDTV content through the traditional distribution is gonna be helped

The 2 Way CableCards from satellite receivers and the Cable providers on the PC Card from Dish or DirecTV Networks could soon pre-empt the chance for the video over the internet had to replace the traditional distribution of TV. . If either of these becomes the USER INSTALLABLE , not more than one call to the provider's option, and then the PC could become the home for the distribution of the HD content to the HDTV, which would in fact put replace the TV coffin.

And the video over internet replacing the satellite and the cable would just be an amusing memory.
