I never tried virtualbox – is it as good as vmware? Now I am using wmware server with console which is actually free (you need to register to get a reg code).
Well other opensource applications are obviously forefox, openoffice, Gimp, Programmers notepad, 7-zip. These are great projects that can substitute commercial ones.
virtualbox is great, ive not tried vmware for some time, the last time i tried it was about 4 years ago, but what i can tell you is that virtualbox is quick =)
ive tried qemu, but it was a bit sluggish, the other good thing about virtualbox is that its easy to use =)
virtualbox.org is the url =)
i even have a windows 3.11 and dos 6.22 virtual machine!
