Do you have and want to preserve Windows instance? If not probably you should go with format and clearing disk boot sector…
Actually I do not like two or more OS in one computer. If I want to run another operating system I create Virtual machine with WMware software – clean and safe.
well thanks soo much for the help admin… i am gonna go for complete formatting and i swear to god i’ll never touch linux again
dragonclaws linux isnt that bad if you wanna try and learn a bit how linux works best is to get ubuntu. You can use it without installing and if u like it u can install on HDD.
@dragonclaws
How can you say that I will not touch linux again……come on!
Don’t drop your shoulders so quickly.Because of one problem you are trying to avoid it but windows operating systems have much more and weired problems than this and then what you will do?
Keep going with linux and if you have any problems ask here..we all are here to help everyone.
Linux also a cool OS. but i think he used to use Windows. as far as i know windows is very easy to use that’s why people preffer windows. as admin said if you want to use windows again just format your disk and install Xp or what ever windows version you want.
linux isnt ready for everyone yet, ive been using it since redhat 5.2, and im used to it, but i wouldnt let my mum look after a linux machine, sure its ok cos i have ssh access into her computer and i can fix it for her (assuming she doesnt break the network) but i wouldnt trust my mum to fix it herself, though she has learned a lot from it and can fix most things herself now
plz help me in removin linux from my comp… linux has 40GB memory and i want to reduce it o else remove it… i ve no idea how to do it..
If you want to change linux partition to windows type, then use some kind of partitioning tool like Partition magic, then delete linux partition and create new one – most likely NTFS.
