The Question
Ive been moving from XP to Vista and noticed that the file transfer are more slower using it. Do anyone of you having on this problem?
Well maybe this was the solution, bacause in Vista the cause are in Remote Differential Compression. you have to disable this features.
first click start -> control panel -> Programs and Programs and features -> Turn on or off Windows features -> uncheck Remote Differential Compression.
Youre done and try it now!

WOW thanks man i recently bought a new laptop and it came with vista. I didnt like vista as much as XP though but drivers were issue so had to keep vista.
I myself have experienced slow file transfer in vista compared to XP specially if transferring on network or via USB pen drives.
oh great… my brother uses vista. this tip will be really useful for him as he’s always crying about how his file transfer is soo slow…
If your RAM capacity is as much as required then it the vista operating system will work properly on the computer system.I myself use windows vista since past 6-7 months but I haven’t found any problem yet!
But still nice tip to avoid the slow file transfer rate…
this is one of the reasons i really hate vista… but its tips like these that keep me going.. keep em coming…
thanks great job!!
thanks, i will try it after i get back home. i got 4gb of ram on my system, but the transfer rate is so slow. so i don’t think there is any thing to do with the ram as harshads said.
it is also a fresh install vista + sp1.
i hate why MS cannt make thing right out of the box. i am not talking about making it perfect, i am talking about an improvement from the earlier one. it is always a big step back in their new os. i don’t even want to use vista, but every one seem to ship with vista now a day!
