Question: Bad Sector problem

I have a really bad problem with my system. It seems my hard-disk has suffered external damage and so I’ve got bad sectors on my Windows partition. Trouble is that I have only 300 MB of free space on the partition and its killing me for speed. And the bad sector doesn’t allow me to resize my partition either!! Any ideas?

why not format your drive? have you tried partition magic? you can fix this problem, but i suggest that you give the drive a FULL FORMAT.
Also, it may suggest that the drive is too old now, and needs to be replaced!

If the bad sector is in Windows Partition then you can not resize the drive. I lost all my data trying to merge my Windows drive and one other(via Partition Magic and on another PC). So you better make a complete partition again, That will make the bad sector lie on a corner if Possible.

The first thing Ild be worried about..is …do I have all my critical data backed up??…and do I have a drive image??…

With the costs per gig..so damn cheap now..Ild seriously consider tosing it..but..thats just me. But I do know this..Ild make sure I had everything important backed up! Ive learned my lesson the hard way!
