or Vista? I just asked another question about which laptop brand to purchase, but I forgot to ask about operation system. I am currently running XP Pro on my desktop with Office 2003. As I mentioned in my other question, I am most interested in photo editing, transfering video from camcorder to DVD, music & movies, and office type programs (word, access, excel), but not really into gaming (I don’t think I have any games on my desktop other than what was preinstalled). I’ve heard that Vista isn’t too bad after you learn it, and I’m not too concerned about software compatibility (other than office programs). I’ve also heard something about a program that allows you to run XP software on Vista, but not sure if there actually is something like that out there.

I have a file that is ~500MB size but cant open its contents with DAEMON tools. is there any suitable program that coult handle it. Any free software?

Why there is two open document formats? Cant MS and OpenSource community find common talk and create one Open document format that could be compatible everywhere. Now what I see is some kind of stupid format wars that leads to misunderstandings and incompatibilities. Don’t you agree?

I saw lots off discussions about this problems and even signed a Petitions once against Open XML. But lost track of this thing. So whats new about that? 

Which processor is good AMD or Intel Pentium 4 series with similar clock speed and configuration. Why do most people still prefer Intel.

I think its because Intel make Processors for Microsoft software and it really works with their proucts.

Now a days we have 32 bit and 64 bit opeating system availble with Windows xp . 64 bit is called x-64. The only difference i found is that 64 bit OS uses memory better than 32 bit. The page file size is almost 4 GB. That mean i can run applications that require huge memory without upgrading RAM.

I want to get some free 3D screen protection programs , and I hope it can run well on my PC, if any one can refer some good site to download?

I want to get the full programs, not for a trail.

On my company, there are so many people use MSN, they don’t use YM, so am I .

I don’t know why, I heard YM is really popular in people in other country,but MSN is better to my friends.

so why so many people choose MSN?

I already download skype on my PC,but I don’t log in it everyday, I think there were not many people will use it.

so do you think skype is popular in people? and will you use it ?

When I am on my computer at any moment it can be shutdown. 

when I left the computer  for around 8 hours and try to power it up it will start loading then reboot and it will always load the second time.

if any one can help me for this issue?

There are some one will buy computer with good brand, and there are some other one will not buy it with good brand, they will build it by good hardware in different brand.

so if you will build the PC with different part from different brand?
