How to speed up your XP windows?

The day I installed XP windows, I found out that it was running slow and when ever I try to run any thing, it took a hell of a time. This made me some what uncomfortable with XP windows, later on I learnt how to tune up my PC? Now it is working very fast.

Friends if you have an old computer and you come to know that it is not working on merit then there are few things you do to speed it up:

• Make sure that your PC has an anti-virus installed in it.

• Perform and up date the full virus scan for your satisfaction.

• Well I prefer AVG anti virus, if you don't have any virus program.

• This anti virus is free and works great.

• But do remember, uninstall the old anti virus program, otherwise you may face computer crash.

When you are completely satisfied that your computer is free from all viruses then do see that there is a load of programs on your start up. This makes your computer to boot slow. These programs eat up a lot of memory and load the start up.

• Delete all the unnecessary quick start programs on your task bar.

• Both right and left sides must be cleaned out.

• The short cuts which you don't use daily must be eliminated from your desktop.

• Many people plastered there desktops with a lot of icons due to which they are unable to see the desktop. Delete them, but don't worry as your just deleting the shortcuts but not uninstalling them. You will find all the icons in your start menu.

• Run a spyware or adware in order to clean out all the garbage, as many people are unaware of the amount of the junk they have collected.

• There are many programs collecting your info in the back ground, you are unaware of it. A wise investment by the computer owner in buying a good spyware cleaner is helpful.

There are also free ones but they are not performing as good as the above spyware. So why not to spend some bucks and have a peace of mind by making your computer clean and safe.
