How to add icons back to the windows vista desktop

Here is how to add your icons back to the desktop in 3 easy steps.

1.In order to restore your desktop icons you could use just one method instead of the 2 methods in Windows XP/2003.find any empty spot on the desktop and right click to bring up a menu and select Personalize which is at the bottom.

2.In the Personalization window, at the top left-hand corner click on "Change desktop icons". Note that you can also get to this window directly from the Control Panel but this is the easy way.

3.Now in the Desktop Icon Settings window, check all the empty checkboxes so you can see your icons again on the desktop. Now Click Ok.

 Now all of you desktop icons will have returned to where they should be.
