Doesnt run in windows XP!

I cant run Ares Galaxy Classic a P2P software in windows XP due firewal settings.
It used to run in 98
though it runs in Xp but it doesnt connect to the net.
this may be because WIN XP ha tighter security settings.
I am not an expert in firewal and security settings please advise me how the change these settings so that i can run it in windows XP
its simple go to the start menu and then go to the control panel and open the firewall settings and turn it off, now try running your file, if you have further problem post here.

its working now thanks i didnt turn off firewall settings but cecked ares as an exeption. Its connecting fine now.
