I was gifted a lap top by my brother arsalan anwar, after sometime I have noticed that it gets hot. But friends this can be risky, if it happens usually.

  • The internals of your machine are damaged or burnt.

  • You will get frustrated.

Here are some steps you can take to cool down your lap top:

  • Hard surface is suitable for your lap top, so it helps the lap top fans to circulate and keep it cool. On the other hand if you use soft surface, you will find circulation slightly slow and your lap top get warm up after some hours. So always go for harder surface.
  • You can cool down your lap top by using a cooling stand. Lap top stands are easily available in the market at a very low cost. The main advantage of these stands is that they contain different fans of different speed to provide immense cool to your lap top. This also helps you to sit with an ideal posture to avoid back and neck pain. Highly recommended for those who want quality in their every day use products.
  • Many people are not aware of the fact that laptop's brightness can cause your machine to heat up. You can conserve your battery power by turning down the brightness. Do note that when you are working in the dark, their is not need to turn off the brightness, it may cause itching in your eyes.
  • If you are not satisfied by the above steps then surely take your lap top to a cooler place. Try using this machine in an air conditioned room. This will help you in increasing the performance of your lap top.
  • Most of the laptops have "power saver" mode which automatically invoke after heating up. The brightness of the computer is turned down by power saver, when it remained idle for a long time. Also the hard drives are spanned down by this process.
  • If you are browsing and a lot of applications are opened then your lap top may face heat up problem. More applications mean, more work for your CPU which results in generating a lot of heat. Close unnecessary applications, this will surely keep your machine cool.
  • Another heat generator is USB ports, plug out the unnecessary USB ports and avoid getting your machine to heat up.

The cooler is your lap top the more it is durable. Enjoy computing inside cool and calm environment.
