Configuring your Small LAN

Nowadays, we have many computer at home. Maybe you have two or more computer at home. Do you you can created these computer as a small LAN on your house. Connected all these computer and also can sharing the internet connection. Below is the way to build small LAN.

1) Wired LAN

     a) Buy a network switch with 4-8ports.

     b) Buy a network cable / UTP Cat5e cable. Measure the cable from the PC to the swicth that you need to allocated.

     c) Ensure all the PC have a netword card. If not you need to buy and put in to your pc.

     d) Choose one pc as main to sharing the internet connection. Put the switch nearing the main PC.

     e) Connect all PC to the switch using the network cable.

     f) Set the IP Address for each PC.

         - Go to Control panel--> Network Connection --> Right click to the Local Area Network --> Click on Properties

         - Go to Internet Protocal --> Click to the properties.

         -  Click on Use the Following IP

         -  Type in the following Ip Address for the main PC

              IP Address    : 192.168.1.2

             Subnet Mask  : 255.255.255.0

             Gateway        :

           -  Type in the following Ip Address for the Rest PC. Set the other IP address for other PC  is following by sequence like 192.168.1.3, 192.168.1.4. Ther subnetmask and gateway is same.

              IP Address     : 192.168.1.3

             Subnet Mask  : 255.255.255.0

             Gateway        : 192.168.1.2

   g) Now you small LAN is created. You will sharing folder ans Sharing internet connection.

        - Go to Control Panel --> Network Connection --> Right Click --> click on properties -->

        -   Click to Advance tab --> Click on Internet COnnestion Sharing.
