Re: virtualbox - opensource alternative to vmware

I never tried virtualbox - is it as good as vmware? Now I am using wmware server with console which is actually free (you need to register to get a reg code).
Well other opensource applications are obviously forefox, openoffice, Gimp, Programmers notepad, 7-zip. These are great projects that can substitute commercial ones.
