Sometimes temporary files aren't deleted automatically and are collected using computers memory, so occasionally you can clean them manually.

Firstly, create new folder on C disk named temp (C:\temp)

If you want optimize you XP you can disable error reporting.

Click right mouse button on My Computer icon, then Advanced, press on Error reporting button.

Internet browsing is such an exciting and easy experience now a days that we have almost forgotten the amount of work that goes behind the scene to make this all happen. We only feel bad if we can't find something easily or have to wait for a long time (I have heard many people saying WWW stands for world wide wait not too long ago!!!) I am sharing with you a tip which is very useful as it does not strain your eyes as much as those other fonts. The tip is to use Clear Type Fonts. For all those Laptop users and LCD users staring at their screens all day long this must be more of a necessity than an option. Most geeks and other elite users must be already knowing this but then too I thought I would share this information with all those who might want to enhance their computing experience.

Here is how you do it.

Step 1: Right click at any free area on your desktop and select properties.

If you have ever needed to install a program or make a system wide change requiring administrator access, you can easily do this by using the run as feature within Windows XP.

The run as command allows you to temporarily assign administrator rights and permissions to a particular task or application. Once the task is completed, the permissions are revoked, returning all system permissions to normal. The run as command operates within a shell from the main operating system, so nothing else has administrator access - apart from the application that was invoked with run as.

Windows XP messenger is one of those programs that is running against your will. I don't know why Microsoft put it to run by default as probably not many people is using it as there are much more better and more popular alternatives. It seems that getting rid of it isn't so simple but possible.

Many people use Windows XP but they dont know the version of it. To find out we go to desktop and press right mouse click on My Computer icon and in popup menu window select Propertires.
