The researchers hope by using the emulator, it can prevent the digital materials, such as games, websites and multimedia documents don't lost for good. The best part about the emulator is it will regularly update, where it is to ensure that formats that fall out of favor remain supported in the future.

The project is given the name, "Keeping Emulation Environments Portable (KEEP)", and it's main point is to create software can recognize, play and open all types of computer file from the 1970 until recently.
