Nokia 6300 Connectivity Problems

Hello everybody...
Just got a problem with my Nokia 6300.
When i try to connect my phone to my charger...after a minute or so it prompts
a message stating "Bad Connection: Charger!", same when i connect my phone to my pc using my usb.. it states "Bad Connection: USB!"
I really dont know how to download applications and to charge my newly bought phone..
Can anybody out there help me?
