Great news – stable Drupal 6.0 has been released

Today is a day when new major version of Drupal 6.0 open source CMS has been released. Drupal 6.0 comes with many improvements related to security, usability and maintainability. At last it comes with a friendly install feature. If you haven't tried Drupal you should as it has a great potential for any type of site. With 6.0 version it has even more of it.

Drupal 6.0 comes with following noticeable improvements:

• Quicker and easier setup - it now has a user friendly installer;
• Administration screens comes with drag and drop functionality;
• Easy administration of multilingual sites - easy to post to different languages;
• Action and trigger setting - trigger actions like email post when new post is made;
• Members can login with OpenID - single digital identity across internet;
• New update status module - get notified when new module version is released;
• Easier theming;
• More security including password strength checking;
• And more important hidden things like code optimization, better file handling, and more.

If not to upgrade right now but for new sites I encourage grabbing Drupal 6.0.

DiBugs.com site is running on Drupal 5 and will continue for a while as it is reliable on multiple modules where most of them aren't updated to 6^th version. Once all required modules will be updated the site will be upgraded to 6.0 version what should lead to better performance and usability.
